Boxer Shorts

To make the waistband, I create a tube of fabric with extremely small seam allowance on both sides. I cut a strip at least double the width of the waistband, which will be 3 mm. Very carefully, I glue and flatten down seam allowance in a straight line on either side, using a straightedge as well as the ribs of the fabric to guide me. Then cut them so they are 1.5 mm each. I fold the seam allowances to the back, gluing and ironing again. I also create seam allowance for the side seams, cutting the corners off so it won't show in the front after being folded. On one side seam I do a backstitch with 1 mm stitch length, then pin it to the puppet and close it with a ladder stitch, again of 1 mm stitch length. I then did a backstitched ladder stitch to attach the waistband to the boxers. Repeat but even tinier for the cuffs on the legs.
